Should I take English 1301 (composition and rhetoric) this minimester through the community college or should I wait until I go to North Texas, if i take it i would have to drive 20-25 miles 5 days a week and the class is 4 hours long. Oh and if no say why

Take the maymester....English and history are great courses to knock out in the summer. Plus Ju-Co's are cheaper, and in most cases much easier.

take it and get it out of the way, normally classes like that at major univ are weed out classes

School trying to "weed out" all the ones that can't cut it. Probably harder than most 2nd year classes.

classes that are either so hard that they make you either drop out or change majors

Take it for sure. A Maymester is the best thing since sliced bread. You can usually get a little jump on your tough classes, and taking only one class in huge doses makes it easier.

these are the classes that have a midterm and a final and that's it and normally have 500 plus students in the class

Take every class you can at a JUCO and take classes every opportunity you get! Take Maymesters, Summer School, etc... Talk to your advisers frequently! If you have a question, ask someone! Have fun, but take care of your business! Okay, I'm done preaching!

Next fall when the other freshman are writing 5 papers during 1301, you will be very happy that you took it.

You should definitely take this class. I agree that taking it at a junior college would be cheaper than a 4 year college. Although it is 4 hours, it is the only class you are worrying about. You aren't contending with 3 or 4 or however many classes you will be taking in the fall. Most college will accept transfer credits if you pass the class (C or better). So yeah go for it!

Going into NSU, i already had 27 hours going into college including taking dual-credit courses and scoring high enough on AP Tests to get credited for the their equivalent college course.

The positives outweigh the negatives...
