Signature sizes, everyone read, please.

These sig sizes are getting ridiculous. Those of you who have huge sigs (and you know who you are) need to cut them down, voluntarily. If you don't, there could be some circumstances where your sig may just get deleted. We've tried the "voluntary" concept, and it doesn't seem to be working. Next up is the "involuntary". Just a word to the wise.

OK Mr. Know it all....what about mine? Does it fit the standards?

My signatures combined - 568,819 bytes

Marlin Fan's one - 994,074 bytes

Lepfan's - 281,891 bytes

Personally.....I think there should be a byte & size limit. Some of those with less bytes you still have to scroll forever to get past them.

Also, I think there should only be ONE picture per signature and maybe a quote underneath....and that's it. (A collage of pictures in one frame is okay).

As a matter of fact, I think I will recommend that!

With all the bickering and crying going on, maybe banning sigs all together isn't a bad idea. :mad:

The size we asked for was limited to 300x100 pixels. Lepfan's is 550x100. That's not too terribly large. We will accept 550x100, but that is the absolute max. As far as the byte size, 150K is plenty for a sig. That is about to become the reality of the sig situation.

How about 350x150 with a 200k or so limit. 550 would cause more problems with those who use a 800x600 resolution.

Animation is fine as long as you stay under the file size limit. The height and width limit is as stated.

I know I have a hard time loading the signatures with videos on them here at home.

Panther Powers works just fine at my office where I have DSL, but at home only half the video will play, and what DOES play is garbled and jumpy. If he posts more than one time in a thread, I just usually skip that thread until I get to work. It get's too frustrating sitting and waiting for it all to load.

and another thing....how can you tell what your sizes are?

I know if I right click and go to properties I can tell the dimensions on mine.....how do I transfer the byte size to KB's??

Mine is 17881 bytes.

OK OK OK....i know there are several who are just DYING for someone to tell me mine is too big, but i have drastically reduced the size and i think mine is good, if not, Sinton66 just tell me and ill gladly change it w/ no arguement

I hope I'm telling you this correctly, but if not, I'm sure I'll be corrected. :rolleyes: I believe there are 1000 bytes in KB.

too tall, dre. if it's 550 wide, it can only be 100 high. or if 500 wide, it can be 150 high.
