well, i accepted a job with a new engineering firm here in Corpus Christi. I will give my 2 weeks notice on Monday. It's a weird and scarey feeling since ive only worked at 1 firm for the past 10 years since i graduated college. its an exciting feeling too though and im anxious to see how things go. so until i have wow-ed my new employers, im going to be the model employee. so i may only be posting in evenings and maybe mornings. possibly even lunch time. wish me luck

thanks. the VP is an old friend of mine who has wanted me to go there since he first went there 5 years ago. i finally got the nerve to make the move. the worst part is handing in my resignation letter. i dont want to hurt my mentor who groomed me to who i am now. he is a close friend to my new boss also so maybe he will come with me. it sure would be nice. but he is almost 63 and im sure he doesnt want to start something new so close to retirement

Sounds good.:)

The one person we discussed that I know is super. He has two daughters, probably about 7 & 8, and then a son that is about 44 Jrs. age.

I am sure your transition will be a smooth one!

Good luck in your new Job 44! I know changing jobs is hard and you always feel loyalty to your former employer but it is a judgement thing and difficult decision but I think you will be ok.

Not yet, but I am working on that this morning. Not a lot of choice without major driving. I am willing to drive. But, it must be worth it.

I hate it when they show you the "hidden" paycheck and you're right all the benefits in the world doesn't help you pay the light or grocery bills.;)

Yes, I think I am going to request them to take my benefits (which I can get from my hubby's work) and give me the raise....What are the chances that will happen .... 0 to slim!

Sometimes it's worth it to ask. I have worked at my job for 13 years.....the ONLY benefit I get is vacation time....no retirement, no insurance.

You can't beat the perks though!!
