There was a coach in Caldwell in the early 90's named Jeff Henry who was really a very good coach and had just left A&M as Jackie Sherrill's recruiter in the controversial aftermath. He had the track program take second in state, a point from winning it all and his football teams were 5-4-1 and 5-4, in that order. But it was right after Goforth left the program kinda fair-to-middlin. If Henry had been given a couple more years instead of getting fired, I think he had the kids' support to have done some great things. Don't know where he is now. He was in Georgetown last I heard as an assistant.

Of course, Cobia is doing a credible job now, so no disrespect there.

first of all, i dont want to take anything away from kent jackson because i think the world of him, but his predecessor, Hank Dowell, was let go for some reason that is unknown after a 9-3 season that ended in a close loss to kennedale. go figure
