I hope the Spurs can do it also in game 2. I am not as optimistic because Duncan is not playing up to his ability due to his injury. If he was healthy the Spurs could take it all. Without him at full strength the Spurs are out. Whoever else wins it will be happy but it will always be wondered if they could have done it with San Antonio having a healthy Tim Duncan.

113 to 111. Not a very good defensive game for the Rockets but they pulled out another one. And for all those NA sayers of the Rocket haters. Look at them they did it again!

If anyone had told me Houston would up 2 games to 0 at this point I wouldn't have believed them.

I'm pissed.

And no one would have thought Houston would be up 2-0 at this point. It's kind of mind-boggling.

I think stealing these two games from us at home is a wake-up call for the team. Something tells me we'll see a different story for Games 3 and 4.

The only thing KTJ is that the games are going to be in Houston.

So, are the Mavs fans ready to admit that maybe the Rocket defense has a little bit to do with Dirk's poor shooting? Or did he just have two bad games in a row?:p

Now, that said he could turn around and light up the Rockets in game three, but I think Jeff Van Gundy needs some credit for how he's guarding Dirk. GO ROCKETS!!!:)

no, he's still just missing open shots. on a previous thread, you stated that you loved the rockets and mavs. if you've watched the mavs this year, you could see that dirk is just missing his shots.

Houston has alot of heart and showed everybody that they wanted it more than Dallas. Yao Ming finished with 33 points on 13 of 14 shooting from the field. T-Mac scored 28 points and had 10 huge assists. The guard combination of Sura, Barry and James combine for 40 points. Barry and Sura also shoot 8-11 from behind the 3 point line. Dirk finishes 8-21 to go 13-40 for the 2 games.

What should bother Maverick fans is that Nowitzki and Van Horn both passed up shots at a critical part of the game. Late in the game and trailing by 2, Nowitzki passes up a golden opportunity when he was guarded by the smaller Jon Barry. Van Horn passes up a open shot and then has the ball stolen away.

With only about 30 seconds remaining in the game, Houston decides that if Dallas ties the score, they will not call time-out. This was a very smart decision by Van Gundy. Dallas seemed very surprised and it also didn't let them bring in their better defensive players. Yao sets a nice screen and McGrady score the game winner with 2 seconds left on the clock.

Most Dallas fans thought Houston played their best in game 1 and they couldn't play any better. They believe that Dirk had just a bad night shooting and it had nothing to do with the Rocket's defense. Wesley was 1-10 shooting, so I think Houston still could of played better!

i think people are suprised at the talent and age of the team, they have to win early in the series, a long drawn out series doesn't favor the rockets because of age, likewise, their success in the first two games can be contributed to age...look how old their roster is

He seems bothered by the Rocket's defense. One announcer said it looked like Bowen has filled Nowitzki's shoes with fire ants.

Rockets Head Coach Jeff Van Gundy
On Ryan Bowen’s defensive assignment against Dirk Nowitzki:
Ryan is going to try his hardest and we also know that Nowitzki missed some shots he normally would make too. We are not going to pound our chest like we have some answer for this guy. We have no answers; we are just going to try our hardest

I guess with Houston being up 2-0 Tmac can FINALLY get out of the first round, like he did a few years back being up 3-0.

This is a team game! One thing I noticed is that the other Maverick players aren't setting Dirk up with some easy open shots. The Houston team did a great job of getting Yao back on his game. T-Mac had 10 assists, with none better than the late pick'n roll slam dunk to Yao Ming.

Speaking of Slam dunks, did anybody see T-Mac slam over Bradley in the first quarter? It was even better than the one in game 1.

slamming on bradley isn't saying much. with that said, it was an awesome dunk.

We have no answers; we are just going to try our hardest If you've listened to Van Gundy all year you would know that's his style. He gives almost no one credit and continues to strive for excellence. He's also smart enough to realize that you don't say that Bowen "shut down" Nowitzki. That would just be plain stupid. Bowen's defense has obviously had an effect on Dirk's shooting.

Dirk normally makes some of the shots he's missing. No doubt. Is it just a fluke 2 games in a row, or does the Houston defense have anything whatsoever to do with it? That's all I'm asking.

1. Dallas fans think it's a fluke that Dirk has shot poorly in the first 2 games and it has nothing to do with the Rockets defense.

2. Houston fans think it has something to do with the defense.

If he continues to shoot poorly, let's agree that it is #2.

If he starts to shoot like he normally does, let's agree on #1
