Bellville beats Rice 3-0 , and Sealy gets beat by Navasota giving Bellville the out right District championship. Bellville has won this district for many years now. Bellville has a very young team, and will be in the hunt for this district title for many years to come!

The Brahmanettes definitely backed into this one. Not sure what's happened to the Lady Tigers lately. They were totally in the driver's seat 2 weeks ago.

Now I understand there's a 3-way tie for 3rd. That would mean Rice, Navasota and Columbus will have to decide the playoff team. Anybody know how this will get accomplished? I've heard speculation of coin tosses, 3-way playoffs, etc.

Wow, it's been a while since the district 20AAA outright champ had 3 losses.

Hey Brahma,

Looks like there could be a possible rematch! Let's hope we both make it that far.

Rice coach told me last night there would be a playoff......Navasota vs. Columbus sometime today in Bellville and the winner gets Rice Cons. on Monday.

Also, Hallettsville vs. Yoakum for 2nd/3rd on Monday in Shiner.

Hey 73, I think Bellville only has 2 losses?

You are correct. District record was 8-2, season so far 19-5.
Defense was strong first half of season, but went on vacation for a 5-6 game stretch in district, during which time, the two losses occurred.
Girls have now played well on defense last three games of district, outscoring opponnents 20-0. Hopefully will continue in playoffs, but when six of your starters are freshmen or sophomores, you sometimes don't know what to expect.

Will Bellville have a warm-up game, during the bye?
