Just in case anyone was interested. It was a great unexpected and pleasant surprise this summer when when of our American Girls took home a fencing gold metal.

Apparently popular in parts of world and US.
I never got opportunity to participate competitively.
As kids, my brother and I were having sword fights, but mom took our swords away. That was the extent of my fencing experience.

When I was in college they offered a course in PE and some of the students that took it liked it but that was the extent of it as far as college was concerned.
