Which 3A teams do you think will surprise some people this year?

I'd say to watch out for Hidalgo out of district 32-3A. When a team returns 10 offensive and 10 defensive starters, that is incredibly hard to ignore. They've also got a year of running the spread under their belt, so they can only get better.

I agree with Lobo in Monahans....while they got beat pretty badly in their last game of the yr last yr. they did appear to have some young talent that was impressive.

I won't laugh at you lobo12. Monahans made it farther than the majority of teams...and made it farther than anyone expected!!

Not sure if it's much of a surprise anymore, but not many people realize how good Navasota could be. Have to play a Sealy team out for revenge in Sealy, but get Bellville at home, and everyone knows how tough it is to come out of the "Snakepit" with a win. This team could very well win a very tough District 23 (not sellin' out my Brahmas, I'm still picking them, but it could be interesting), and make some noise in Div. I playoffs.

I actually see them as the 3rd place team, and possbily beating out Raymond for 2nd, it just depends if they can get a decent running game going. I don't see them beating PI though, our secondary is going to be solid this year, and well our run defense, Tarpons are the best in that category.

I beleive the Liberty Panthers out of 22-3A will be a surprise team in 03. They are returning their skill players from last years squad that gave Bellville a pretty good game in round 2. I could be wrong but keep your eyes on the Panthers.

I think several teams will be surprised by Van this year. They are returning 8 or 9 on offense and defense this year.

hmmmmm... we'll i don't think bellville we be no suprise to us and any others in our dist. I willsay this the rattlers could sneak up on us this year bull; what do you think about playing in the snake pit. I really look for rice, wharton, liberty and la grange to do real good this year. The rattlers are looking to win dist 23a,but not if sealy has something to say about it. Wish bellville, navasota and sealy a safe year. :D

Sinton... and yes, I did say Sinton. I know that everybody knows about them and their incredible run over the past four years, but everybody also knows that they lost a whole lot. The majority of their big guns graduated, the coach who began building the program back to where it is now is up in DFW (has been for over a year), and they're facing their first rebuilding season since he began there. Guess what, it won't matter. Sinton's still gonna make the Regional Finals, although they'll hit some bumps along the way. They might even lose two non-district games (Gregory-Portland and Rice will be tough), but they're almost a completely new team. It'll take 'em a while (maybe game five???), but once they find their new identity they'll start clicking and steamrolling again and then they'll dominate everyone on their way to Burnet.

I think FW carter Riverside is the biggest suprise team from district 8-3a. After numerous bad seasons, we turned it around and now we have some players that are gonna make a difference in the next 3 years.

If Carter-Riverside wins 2 games this year it'll be a success..I'm not talking bad about em...but that has gotta be the toughest job in the state....keep an eye on Venus..not saying they'll make the playoffs or anything..but they'll be better than people think...by the way BuckeyeGuy I've been touting Gilmer for a while now..LOL
