There seems to be NO good news coming out of there lately!

Pilot Point might have to forfeit most or all eight of the victories in the final season of G.A. Moore's career. The UIL state executive committee and UIL staff returned a case involving the eligibility of sophomore football-basketball player Adam McBride to the District 6-3A executive committee and expressed doubts whether McBride ever met the UIL requirements for residence. After discussion of some of the paperwork submitted by McBride's parents, UIL athletic director Charles Breithaupt said, "I don't see any validation that these people lived at this address."

Moore retired from coaching following the 2004 season with 412 victories, reduced to 411 by the district's ruling in March. He coached for 42 years and passed the legendary Gordon Wood's total of 396 atop the state list of football victories in November 2002.

The district committee last month ordered Pilot Point to forfeit one football victory and all of its boys basketball victories in connection with McBride's status. Pilot Point officials requested Tuesday's hearing to restore the forfeits, saying the school performed due diligence in determining the eligibility of McBride. He was a receiver/defensive back in football and a second-team all-district guard in basketball.

Pilot Point superintendent Cloyce Purcell said the school learned after the basketball season that McBride's family, new to Texas this year, left its rental property in Pilot Point's attendance zone in early November because of a broken water line. According to discussion Tuesday, a monthly electric bill submitted for the rental property during the early part of the football season was for about $7 and a water bill for a similar period showed usage of about 10 gallons.

Coach Eddie Robinson of Grambling University had the most wins of all time coaches including pros, college and high school at 408 wins when he retired. Coach Moore passed him and got to 412 now 411. I wonder if these forfeits will get him behind Coach Robinson again. We will see.
