VATICAN CITY (AP) -- Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger of Germany, a longtime guardian of doctrinal orthodoxy, was elected the new pope Tuesday evening in the first conclave of the new millennium. He chose the name Pope Benedict XVI.

Same here AP.. been watchin CNN since about 10:45 or so and when the new pope came to address the crowd, I didnt understand a thing except when he said 'brothers and sisters' only bc he said that in english. God bless the new pope!
