Notes:

Monahans Covington ran a 10.43 in the prelims of the 100 meter dash.

All 3 Stockton runners in the 400 meter dash qualified for the finals, look to sweep finals led by Jefferson.

Seminole's Jeremy Hill won the triple jump with a 22' and change jump.

Stockton's J.J. Hickman had best time in prelims of the 300 Hurdles by more then 2 seconds, looks to take 1st today.

Fort Stockton sent 2 runners in the 3200 to regionals with a 1st and 3rd place finish.

on another note, all teams are showing class and making this track meet a great one. Running smoothly from what I can tell from the stands, credit the coaches for all the good work.

This is what I know as of 3:30pm about which Monahans athletes are headed to regionals:
Boys Pole Vault: Andrew Arredondo (2nd), Ben Benegas (3rd)
Girls Pole Vault: Bree Williams (1st), Kelsi Hays (3rd)
Boys Sprint Relay Team - 1st
Boys 800 Meter Run: Chris Collins (1st)

Congrats to these athletes, especially Bree and Kelsi!!!

Monahans boys won the meet, Stockton was 2nd with a team of 8. Out of 8,7 qualified for regionals!

We qualified in the 4x400 relay in 1st.
in the 3200 in 1st and 3rd
in the 16001st and 2nd
in the 400 meter dash in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
in the pole vault in 1st(district record 14"00
in the 300 hurdles in 1st
in the 100 meter dash in 2nd
in the 200 in 2nd

Congrats to Matt Gravin for making it to regionals in 3 events, and all the Panthers for an outstanding meet. Regionals here we come!

other notes:

Monahans had regional qualifiers in the triple and long jump(covington) the 100 in Covington(district record 10.5) the 4x400 relay in 2nd, and the 800 relay in 1st.

Odessa American says Chris Collins ran the 800 in 2:01.68.

Panther Power, where in the heck did you dig up that Quentin Coryatt hit on that guy from TCU? I always thought that was one of the greatest hits ever. The guy wasn't dead, just a broken jaw.

justlikesports, did fletcher hurt himself this past weekend? He ran the 4x400 relay with a limp and looked to be straining.
