I am going to go around the corner and check ours....they were 2.29 last night

The best time to buy gas they say is mid week....gas prices are usually increased over the weekend. I saw that on the news.

Here in Bridge City, gas has been about $2.07-$2.11 for the past week, it never went above $2.15, and the $2.15 was only for 8 hours in a single day! I remember back in 1998 (Yes, One Nine Nine Eight), gasoline here was .53/gallon, remember that very clearly :) didn't last long, but it was nice while it lasted.

I remember those days. :( Of course, I was no where close to driving age. When I started, gas was under 50 cents.

it was less than 10 years ago when we had gas in the 70 cent range. it even dipped to 69 cents for about a week.

I remember my senior year in HS (97-98) I was dating a girl from Calallen and I once got gas for $.59 a gallon at the RaceTrac over there. I don't ever remember gas being cheaper than that.

I wish those "good old days" would come back right around August. I'd like to get a new SUV or pickup this year and I love the discounts they're giving out right now. Just imagine what it'll be like when the Summer rebates hit.

It dipped below a dollar for a couple of months a few years back and it was consistently in the $1.05-$1.19 range in Ingleside until about two years ago.

On average Corpus is $.20 (or more) lower than the rest of the US. South Texas in general is right there with Atlanta as one of the cheapest areas for gas.

Look at HEB on Monday, August 20.

Looks like gas really started going up at the beginning of 2002. You could still find gas for under $1 if you looked at the right places.

Today in Sinton they are down to $2.050/gallon.

I saw on the news they say oil is just below $51 a barrel. The prices have yet to budge up here...still 2.29...they will milk it!

Where are you lepfan? In Gilmer they have dropped to $2.119 which is 4 cents in a week and 18 cents in 10 days, but nowhere like Sinton's $2.050.

When I was in high school. we had alternate days to buy gas and no one could buy gas on Sunday. I think the days you could buy gas was determined by your license plate #. Gas was a whopping 55 cents a gallon or something like that and I remember my dad moaning and groaning over that

I heard yesterday (from my dad) that oil's been speculated to jump to $2.40 sometime this Summer. It may be true or it may just be paranoia. Wouldn't surprise me.

I found it in a little town near the lake about 25 miles out of Wichita yesterday for $2.01. It's still around $2.13 all over Wichita. I guess when I need gas, I'll go fishing! :D
