Gracious. I hate to admit, but I don't know a lot about our softball team, but I'll tell you what I can. I don't know whether any of the girls we have now have played select ball or not. Our main pitcher is Ashley Steinbach - she has quite the arm. Kaylynn Gunn plays 1st base (or she did last time I watched them a couple of years ago). Lyndsey Cantrell, April Torres & Summer Abernathy are girls that stand out regardless of the sport. I wish I could tell you more.

I can't tell you alot about Greenwood either.

The only thing I know is that Sophomore pitcher will be out 3 weeks due to grades.

They are REALLY going to miss her!

I thank each of you for your contributions of viable information. It appears that there is a surge of interest in a lot of towns to follow HS Softball. Not long ago it was only the parents at the games. I think the phenomenal growth of Select team and quality league recreational ball has fueled the interest. Folks are starting to learn the complexities of good SB and are turning into true fans.
I hope others will join in on this thread a give us some insite on the teams in their Districts.....

La Grange’s Lady Leopards came to play Saturday, hoping to knock Rockdale off its undefeated, first-place 19AAA perch. But Rockdale’s Lady Tigers withstood the pressure and won an exciting, eight-inning game at the RISD softball field.
La Grange hoped to put a blemish on RHS’ perfect loop record at its new field. But with the game tied at 2-2 in the eighth, and with two outs and a 2-and-2 count, Rockdale’s Sammie Meyer laced a line drive into left center to score Kylie Fatheree for the 3-2 win.
With four more District 19AAA games to go, Rockdale assured themselves at least a playoff spot with the win and now sits two games ahead of LaGrange (8-2) and three ahead of third-place Caldwell (7-3). Rockdale was ranked No. 9 in the state last week and La Grange came in at No. 13.
First-year coach Jessica Poole was as excited on the warm weekend afternoon.
“I’ve got chills,” Poole told her players after the game. “This was championship-caliber softball. We were down but came through.”
Poole challenged her players to end the district campaign undefeated. This week will see Rockdale at Giddings Friday and the team will host Smithville on Tuesday.
Big Blue is now 15-3 overall and 10-0 in district.
Poole praised her pitchers Laura Baker (8-2) and Sammie Meyer (7-1).
“It’s a luxury at the high school level to have two solid pitchers that we can rely on,” she said.
LA GRANGE—The Lady Leps struck in the third with an RBI double, followed in the fourth with a second RBI double that send chalk up from the foul line.
Rockdale answered in the bottom of the fourth with singles by Caitlyn Luetgea and Kaitlynn Schnerr and Katrina Montelongo doubled to score Schnerr.
Rockdale’s infield picked up its intensity and held La Grange scoreless the last four innings.
Rockdale trailed until the bottom of the sixth. Schnerr opened with a line-drive double to left and advanced to third on a Fatheree bunt. Schnerr scored on a sacrifice fly to right by Meyer.
La Grange managed a single in the eighth-inning but more solid play from Rockdale’s defense made for three quick outs.
In the bottom of the eighth, Caryn Bland was thrown out at first. Luetge reached when the shortstop bobbled a grounder. Next, Schnerr walked on 5 pitches. Fatheree reached first on a fielder’s choice with Luetge thrown out at third.
Meyer became the hero, battling La Grange’s pitcher to a 2-2 count, then hitting the sweet spot on a line drive to left-center for the game-winning RBI. La Grange players hung their heads and Rockdale’s team ran to hug Meyer at second base.
From the mound, Meyer was solid (11 Ks), keeping a solid Lady Lep lineup in check, allowing 8 hits. She is now 7-1 on the year.
Big Blue had only one error while La Grange’s defense had none.
MANOR—Pitcher Laura Baker and the Lady Tigers held Manor scoreless in Rockdale’s 10-0 win over the Lady Mustangs in Manor on Tuesday. After a six-run flurry in the sixth inning, the game was stopped on the 10-run rule.
 Baker posted 11 strikeouts.

Great report. Knowing things like this about each team will make the bracket games across TXs even more interesting.
