Edwin Jackson Kyle, the namesake of Kyle Field. As chairman of the Athletic Council in 1905, he fenced off a portion of land on southwest corner of campus for an athletic field. Kyle then gave $312.63 of his own money to purchase lumber for the building of bleachers with a seating capacity of 500.

It would pretty much be impossible because they built the new Athletic Center in the south end zone. Any building they do would require stacking the stands on top of the building. Not only would it block the view of an awesome building, but then you are asking for some SERIOUS structural problems when you fill it with 20,000 fans and they all start swaying or jumping on the bleachers.

Actually a South side has been proposed which would increase seating to almost 120,000. It was proposed early this year and would not be put into action until sellouts become a regularity. The Association is really pushing to get this add on which would enclose the stadium, add 4 big screens, 1 in each corner, and make it the largest sports venue in the nation. Ill see if I cant find that picture of the proposed stadium.

I am planning to be there this weekend for parents weekend. My wife will be helping at one of the Aggie Mom Boutiques. Looking forward to being there. Also heard that Dat will also be guest speaker for Asian Pacific Islander Dinner Friday night, hope I can make that too.

A few years ago I read of how they thought about it. It was going to be a single deck closing it in all the way around. It was supposed to hold over 100,00 people, but I think that idea was forgotten.

That would be really sweet if they did add a south endzone even just a lower level...that holds like 20 thousand.
