Boys Track Team Wins First Place

The Jasper High School Boy’s Track teams competed last Friday at Hardin Jefferson High School in Sour Lake. The Varsity team won first place overall in the meet and Junior Varsity took home second place.
Scoring first in the 100-meter relay for Varsity was Jordan Patton, Todd Hunt, Dekendrick Gilder and Gilbert Moye with a time of 41 seconds and in the 400-meter relay, the team of Josh Adams, Dekendrick Gilder, Charles Chambers, and Jeremy Horton also won first with a time of 3 minutes and 26 seconds.
Dekendrick Gilder won second place in the long jump and Jeremy Horton took second in the triple jump.
The Junior Varsity team took top honors in the 100, 200 and 400-meter relays and in the discus throw Jim Ed Hughes won first place with a distance of 120 feet and five inches. Kyle Bailey won second place in the high jump with a 5’ 8 “ jump.
The next meet for the boys will be on Thursday at Kirbyville High School.
