Following is copy of H.C.R 46 proposed by a member of the Texas Legislature to abolish the BCS:

79R4486 PJR-D

By: Van Arsdale H.C.R. No. 46

CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) was created to provide a national championship game featuring the top two college football teams in the country and a consensus national champion, but it has failed to do so for three out of the last five years; and WHEREAS, The recent decision of the Associated Press to disallow the unauthorized use of its poll by the BCS, citing that the "BCS has damaged and continues to damage AP's reputation for honesty and integrity" by association, illustrates the widespread contempt for the BCS system and presents a timely opportunity to redress the problems; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby express support for the abolition of the Bowl Championship Series.

In reality, this bill does nothing. Now the bill to keep Texas schools out of the championship games could have a major impact if other states adopt a similar measure.

"now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas hereby express support for the abolition of the Bowl Championship Series."

Now that is moving...

I doubt Cali will pull through, but Georgia is a state that I think we could see pass this bill... I could see Alabama doing so as well...

If two other states do, whichever they may be, and Georgia and Alabama are included, I think those two would carry enough weight to get the NCAA to do something...

Since they weighed in on the steroids in MLB, if we all contact our Congressmen, maybe Congress will have some hearings. :D
