Greenwood fell to Midland High today in a nondistrict game 3-2. Greenwood returns to district play when they host presidio on Friday

Everyone kind of thought that H-F would hang some with Bridge City after their 9-2 win over WO-S. That was not the case as BC won 10-0 in 5 innings, Godwin fanned every batter-- 15 in a row. Most of the Ks were on three pitches. Any more 24-3A or other scores?

BC now 60-1 in runs after 5th District ballgame.

Columbia 6, Sweeny 5
Needville 6, Palacios 1
Wharton 17, Stafford 3
Gonzales 8, Edna 4
Cuero 8, Yoakum 6
Sealy 3, Rice Consolidated 0
Navasota 1, Columbus 0

I was at the Columbia / Sweeny game also......both teams made mistakes, but both teams did a lot of good things too. That's why it was such an exciting game for everyone involved. Neither team had any quit in them as both teams came back from deficits on several occasions and Sweeny did make a run for it in the 7th. Good luck to both teams the rest of the way.

Are there any other good teams in district 20-3A besides Bellville?

I just updated the scores and standings from our district, 20-AAA, and 26-AAA. My palm pilot screwed up during the game and so I don't have the stats from the game yet. WC coach is going to fax me the book in the morning and I'll input the game in there and then take care of that then.

You're right -- it was an exciting game and a lot of good sportsmanship also. Both teams should have their heads up high for their efforts tonight.

Oh yeah, I had to eat at Elmo's after the game, so I got a late start with the website tonight.

- LA GRANGE 8 CALDWELL 7
The Lady Leps got behind early, after a Caldwell 3 run first inning, but fought back for an 8-7 win in 8 innings at Caldwell. Kimmy Lee got the win for the Lady Leps. With the win, La Grange is now 7-1 in District 19AAA behind undefeated 8-0 Rockdale. Caldwell now falls to 5-3. The Lady Leps will travel to Rockdale Saturday for a 11AM JV game followed by the Varsity thereafter.

I don't have much 18 but according to the Corpus Christi Caller Times in AAA softball last night it was Orange Grove 5 Zapata 1. They didn't have any other scores in softball.

what are the standings over in district 25? Looks like a tough district.
Bellville has beaten Needville and Wharton in pre district, but both are good teams and I've been hearing a lot about (west) columbia and Sweeney.

A late score just into the paper. It is non-district but Ingleside beat Pettus 9 to 3.

Taken from our local newspaper:

Raymondville continues to rule District 32-3A with a mix of solid hitting and good pitching.

The Lady ‘Kats, who went unbeaten in league play last season look to to be on track to complete another unbeaten loop mark.

Joe Ramos’ club is currently 7-0 in league play and is coming off a 24-3  trouncing of Port Isabel on Tuesday night.

"Our hot items has been our sticks and our pitching," said Ramos. "Our defense hasn’t been as consistent, but that’s mainly due to coaching errors as we been moving kids around to different positions to see how they fit."

Denise Moreno definitely has been very consistent for Raymondville, she’s currently riding a 23-game hitting streak. Raymondville is also getting solid production at the plate from Vickie Moya, Jenna Buchanan and Sheila Stephenson.

While going unbeaten through district is nice, Ramos and his squad have a bigger goal.

Two seasons ago, Devine eliminated Raymondville from the playoffs, 15-1. Last season, Devine knocked Raymondville out 4-2. So after knocking on the door last season, this year, the Lady ‘Kats want to kick the door in.

BTX the game went to 9 innings!

I will give the innings summary in the paper. Bear in mind that the visiting team was Falfurrias (Fal) and West Oso (WO) was the home team so Fal scores will be given first..

1st: Fal 1 W0 5

2nd: Fal 5 WO 0

3rd: Fal 2 WO 0

4th: Fal 8 WO 2

5th: Fal 1 WO 4

6th: Fal 2 WO 6

7th: Fal 0 WO 2

8th: Fal 2 WO 2

9th: Fal 0 WO 1

West Oso wins 22 to 21 after 9 innings. It looks like both teams made 5 errors each and Fal got 20 hits and WO 21 hits.

It would be interesting to get the story behind this game. Whew!
