According to sources on texasprepxtra the Gainesville Leopards will open the 2005 season against Scotts Valley, California....not sure if the game will be in Week 1 or Zero Week...the game will be played in Texas exact location has not been determined....should be an interesting test for the possible pre-season number one team in 3A next year

How will this work considering schedules are made for two years, what will happen to Gainsvilles regularly scheduled opponent? I know that basically districts games are set for two years, but are preseason games able to just be rescheduled easily?

I would imagine they won't play San Antonio Antonian again this year

Tyler Lee is going to be playing a game in Florida against Hollywood (Fla.) Chaminade Madonna in the finale of the East Texas Football Classic.

and two weeks later they will be on their way to Ohio to play Colerain

It's quite an opportunity for these teams to be able to play in these games. It seems to me that FNL has garnered a lot of nationwide interest in Texas H.S. Football.

If they're going to the Cincy area I would rather see them hook up with St. Xavier or Elder. Colerain is pretty strong, but Elder and St. X are more traditional powers in football.

I haven't heard anything about this. I'll call my parents when I get back to Texas to confirm this. It sounds odd...

Cordell was raised on Texoma.

My early prediction is that this will be his last year at Gainesville

If he does what I think he can do at Gainesville there will be a 4A or 5A job that opens up for him.....I just wonder if Gainesville will be able to pony up the kind of money a big school could offer him..
