Some good games for Aug. 30th....Sweetwater vs. Vernon, Snyder v Frenship, Denver City v Post could be pretty good, Ballinger v Greenwood. Any thoughts on these?

I dont much about what vernon has or anything this year. Can someone fill me in?

Vernon only has 2-1 starters returning, but Vernon as you know is the type of program that always seems to be able to reload,I don't know how their Sub-Varsity teams performed last year, but they do return 3A's most productive RB in Bernard Scott (5-10,163,4.4).He rushed for 2,424 yds.& 19 TDS and an 8.0 per carry average.That's all I know about them, but if I was a betting man I would say they will be tough again and Sweetwater has their hands full in the opener.

No, they do not return Scott. He was removed for disciplinary reasons,and has transfered to Wichita Falls, I believe.

If that is true Jacket,that is huge news.I have just gained even more respect for coach Portwood.Discipline is very important in any sport,and that takes some kind of character on Portwood's part to take that kind of a stand on your best player.I bet he still has that team ready to go in time for the opener.
Kudos to Coach Portwood.
