So how is your school doing or your son or daughter or bro doing?
Mine is doing quite well for Gwood hes is running a 14.90 in the 110 hurdles, he is 4-0 this year in the 110! But Gwood all round isnt to good we got a good high jumper too thats about it. We really do have some really fast kids but they just wont run!

What's up with so few kids running track this year? Is Jordan the only senior guy running?

That's a shame. We ran into Himbury the other night and Jimmy asked him if he was running, he said no, he is suffering from "Senioritis"!

Is Sebree running this year?

Track is too tough for many kids these days....why bust your rear running when you can play baseball and sit on your rear end half of the time or take a sunday stroll with the golf team. That is too bad because track developes speed which is scarce out here in west texas.

Or, the other option is to be in off-season and not participate in any spring sport.

I think that's the route that most of them have chosen. I think there may be a couple of freshman on the baseball team that are doing track also.

Vernon is decent this year. My daughter in particular is finding out that Freshmen are at the bottom of the heap. She finished 9th at Munday in the two mile and about the same in the 1 mile. Her best finish of the year is 7th in the 2 mile. Hopeing that she will at get get in the points (1st through 6th) at district. A medal would be great and a trip to regionals is probably not going to happen this year. We have another meet at Childress next weekend.

The boys field events are our strong point. Our relays are decent but not great.

We have a 800 runner that is below 2:00 so he will be a favorite at regionals.

That boy from Graham is fast for 3A. The best down in SE TX are 4A boys Wallace Franklin 21:43 Beaumont Ozen and Drenard Williams 21:47 Beaumont West Brook..

That kid is the martinez I was talking about . . . he can fly. And in the 110 hurdles, we got returning state qualifier Kevin Pinkston. he broke his hand but gets the cast off in about 10 days. Jeremy Louder should do pretty good in high-jump; I think he hit 6'6" at region last year as a soph.
