No, but if I was a betting man, I am guessing that neither Riley Boening or Travis Starling pitched for Yoakum in that game. They are quality hs pitchers as Boening has signed with Texas & Starling will play college ball too. So they must have been resting for district play.

saw boening pitched first two innings and starling pitched the 9th...

That makes sense. Sounds like the coach was getting different kids work. Boening started & Starling closed it down, what happened in between was other kids. I promise you Rice did not hit Boening. Yoakum NEVER overuses pitchers. Boening did not even pitch in the game 3 vs. Sinton last year in the playoffs (he won 1st game). They will be tough in that region, count on that.

Actually, I was at the game and Rice scored 7 off of Yoakum's starting pitcher. They didn't switch pitcher's until the 6th or 7th inning. Someone important must of have been pitching considering all of the college scouts that were there. Rice played a terrific game and they deserve credit for playing so well against such a high ranked team.

Rice had a chance to win in the 8th but the runner was thrown out at the plate.

Give Rice a little credit......your Yoakum boys had to beat a scrappy team.

That was such a bad call. The Ump was not in a good position to see. The kid was safe on a high tag, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Cheer Mom , Boening pitched 2 innings. He struckout 7 in those 2 innings. The Scouts in the stands were major league scouts.  :hairpunk:

Must have missed them switch out. As for the scouts, someone said they were college. Pro Scouts that is really impressive!!! Sorry about the mistake.

How do you have 7 strikeouts for the same team in 2 innings?

Boening is legit, signed early with Texas. Starling is good too. Thanks for all the updates. BTW, I am not from Yoakum, not even close. Just keep up with top kids. See ya.
