CUERO - Make it four in a row.

For the fourth straight year the Cuero Gobblers have dominated their own tournament coming away with a 34-stroke victory Saturday at the Cuero Golf Association Gobbler Invitational.

Cuero won the previous three events by a 28-stroke average and this year was no difference after opening up a 17-shot advantage following Friday's opening round.

The Gobblers closed Saturday with a 306 to finish at 618, well ahead of runner-up St. Joseph, who finished at 329-323-652. It was the third time in four years for the Flyers to finish second.

The Cuero B-team finished third with a two-day 676, while Yoakum followed in fourth at 685 and Luling fifth at 706.

All five of the Gobblers first-team players finished in the top-10 individually with Austin Griffin taking medalist honors with a 75-73-148. Campbell Weber finished in a three-way tie for second, but lost a one-hole play and took fourth with a 76-78-154.

Bradley Ley added an 81-76-157, while Matt Schumacher an 80-81-161 and Steven Bell an 83-79-162.

La Vernia's Cory Baker finished second with a 78-76, while St. Joseph's Kevin Sandoval took third with a 77-77-154.

Following Sandoval for St. Joseph was Philip Brown, who finished fifth with a 79-77-156. Jordan Brown added an 86-84-170, Eric Westerman an 89-82-171 and Kyle Alexander a 92-93-185.
