West Orange Stark will always have very good skill players and this year is no different. While my travels took me to WOS to see superstar athlete Deon Beasley, a top junior prospect has emerged as you'd probably expect and will be a name to watch for 2006-07.

West-Orange Stark cornerback Earl Thomas is a name to remember for the future.
Junior-to-be Earl Thomas has a chance to be one of the top prospects in his class after playing running back and cornerback for the Mustangs as a sophomore.

At 5-foot-10 and 173 pounds, Thomas possesses good speed and fluid movement. His ability to turn and make plays on the ball in defensive back drills was really impressive. Thomas showed very good hands and the ability to get up in the air and snatch the ball away from his opponent. According to his coaches, Thomas has been timed in the 4.5s and continues to get faster and stronger during the team's off-season workouts.

While everyone is talking about Beasley this year, West Orange Stark head coach Don Hooks is high on his top junior-to-be.

"He is just as good of a student as he is a player and he is a real good player," Hook said. "Earl has all the things athletically and academically that programs are looking for. He made a lot of big plays.
