Only thing I heard was some man, maybe commissioner, saying something to the effect that no suspensions would be handed out....hope I got that right! I'll listen better and report laters

McGuire started to cry as he started to testify. Rafael Palmiero pointed his finger at the Members of Congress while he testified that he "NEVER USED STERIOD. I DONT KNOW HOW TO MAKE IT ANY CLEARER. NEVER!"

Canseco and McGwire both pleaded the 5th.
Sosa's rep read a statement
Palmiero, Schilling, and Thomas all read statements.

All called Jose Canseco a liar

Tommy Lasorda makes a great point on this subject. When are all the players that Canseco supposedly "defamed" going to sue him for libel? if I were them and knew Canseco lied, i guarentee i would be talking to my lawyer about suing him for all he has (no matter how little it may be.)

Palmiero has discussed this, it has been reported, with his attorney. Everyone else is sitting back and twiddling their thumbs, while Canseco tells the truth, and they continue to think we are idiots.

he's pu$$ed out in front of congress. He is not answering anything. He is saying that he is here to be positive. He refuses to answer anything about steroids. The Committee is totally tearing these ball players apart. They are losing credibility more and more as the hearing goes on.

I agree with you, what a waste of time. Congress should be dealing with problems that affect our daily lives.

the hearings are a joke anyway, but mcgwire looks like a little kid being talked down to. Canseco just looks like a clueless jerk

people who talk stuff for a living versus people who play ball for a living. i wonder if the senators thought of that when they called these hearings. they all say they arent asking questions to embarass the players, but thats clearly not the truth. Schilling seems to be holding his own, but the others are laughable. when are they coming out with Topps Congress trading cards?
