Today I watched this guy stumble out of the blocks and run a 10.3 in the hundred meter dash, on the mile relay this guy made up about 30 meters to give his team the when. You guys from Cuero that have seen him run, do you think he could be the fastest guy to run for Cuero High School?

Wow I can't wait to see this kid's time without stumbling. His time would have to be a 9.7 or 9.8.

I guess you dont understand that you can't run a 10.3 and stumble out of the blocks, unless there is some MAJOR wind. In case you didnt know, the national record is 10.15, that means if he didnt stumble out of the blocks he would have broken that record. That is why I think your story is embellished

He probably is fast. But like I said earilier, he is not fast enough to stumble out of the blocks but still run a 10.3. That would mean if he didn't stumble his time would of been around 9.7-9.9

Well actually there was major wind. We had to turn the starting points and ending point around so the runners were not running into the wind but with it. But i promise u this kid stumbled out of the bloacks and ran a 10.3

didnt Blanton fall out of the blocks one time and get up and WIN his prelim heat in the 100 running a 10.8. I had a track coach swear to me that this was true.

He ran an 11.0, which is still blazing. There was an article about that in the 2001 copy of Dave Campbell's.

That did happen, but I don't think he still ran a 10.8.

I was at the meet yesterday In Edna the official time was a 10.41 and yes he did have a bad start .....this kid is a true sprinter and what about that anchor leg in the 1600 meter relay he reeled that kid in and set him up for the finish .....you guy's in Sinton need to come out and watch you know us Cuero people will be there in Sinton cheering on the Gobblers and Lady Gobblers at the Sinton track Meet.

I actually want to watch this kid run with someone pushing him from start to finsh. The competition was not that great in Edna and for him to still run what he did was quite impressive.

I take that back he did have some competition the other Cuero kid *B.B.* ran a 10.66 and took second also the 4x100 time was 42.5 which I think is only going to improve as the season progresses and they work on those handoff's a little bit .

Yes B.B. very impressive also, but the bad thing was that they were in different heats. So, B.B. killed his heat and Brandon Killed his heat.

Do any of you cuero fans remember Elton perry from goliad, i went to school with him his best time was a 10.22 if i remember right. Him and that guy from refugio i forgot his name but it was 94-95 yr. Elton was fast but we played cuero and he got caught from behind they said he didn't think he would get caught and eased off the paddle big mistake. I'll try to find some of his exact times don't want you to think i'm full of it lol.

Should be a good track meet! How many teams are going to be there?

sinton fan04
03-14-2005, 01:29 PM
Got some stats Toya ran a 10.2 93-94 for the 2a state track meet its on the uil site. Elton ran a 10.7 not his best but still flying.
Goliads boys 400 relay ran a 41.7 and took first, that same yr at the state track meet. That yr there was some speed in that south texas area.

The all time best ever in the state of Texas for a HS athlete in the 100m was set in 1986 Derrick Florence of Galveston Ball ran a 10.13 FAT time *Fully Automatic Time*

For those of you who dont know the Difference Fat and Handheld timing are the two types of timing in track .For all races less than 400 meters ,.24 is added to a handheld time. For all races longer than 400 meters .14 is added for in stance the Cuero kid this weekend had a 10.41 handheld time which is the equvilent of a
10.65 FAT time .

This site here *Texastrack.com* has all the best times in the state so far this yearit also has all the Track meets up to this point in the state of Texas along with the all time best records in all the events *top 10* click on HIGHSCHOOL in the left side and go from there .
