Have done it two times before (73-75 and 85-87), don't see why it cannot be done again...

Tough road, though...

I think if you are who I think you are that you'll be here in 2007 as well, so why not 4 in a row?

No, No, he's not talking mess...

He made my signature, with ROJO on it, one more state appearance and Cuero will have been to 11 state games, tying Permian (MOJO) for the state record...

Sealy, I do believe that they have won 4 state championships in a row.

well at least there is no lack of confidence in Cuero. I sure remember how confident the fans were before the game this year. How that work out for yall?

Also the best 3A team ever was 83 Daingerfield.

Having seen them personally, there is no doubt that the best team was the 1983 Daingerfield Tigers coached by Dennis Alexander.

All other mentions previously have been about schools with significant runs (Cuero's 44-game streak, Sealy's four straight titles), but if we are talking about the best TEAM (which would mean one season), it's Daingerfield by a landslide.

Best team ever! There aint' no such thing. No matter how perfect a record a team had there is no way to say they are the best in my opinion because there ain't no way teams from different years can meet and settle it on the field. You have a BCS type of situation. No solution. It is like they told gunslingers in the old west that no matter how fast you were there was always someone somewhere faster than you. Lots of great teams of their era but no way someone can say they were the best team ever. It is inconclusive.

The 83 Daingerfield team gave up something crazy like 6 points all year long. Thats probably not the right number but someone who knows let us all know please

nevermind.. not worth my time :D but seriously, do you think fans should get on here and say 'well, we might win, but I dont' think we will" JEEZ... 14-1 - losing in the last 6 seconds of the game....... not like we got the crap beat out of us........

and yes, the Dangerfield 83 team was AWESOME - we went to see 2 of the games and they were unstoppable

Sorry to rain on the Kelly Green parade but I'd have to say the 83 Daingerfield team that went 16-0 and only allowed 8 points all season would have to be the best 3A team ever. That team only lost one game in 3 years (84 State Championship to Medina Valley) and featured a couple of future NFL all-pros.

Cuero of the 70's would be my second pick.

sorry Gobbs.

i am not talkin trash, i am just wondering what all yall have coming back. didnt yall lose almost your whole line. all of you fast rb's need someone to block for them.

also, i think that it might be a lil too early to start gettin excited about winning 3 or 4 in a row right now. take care of business and win one with this class and then you can talk about a second.

btw, how is latrell coming along? any hopes of him running track this year? i saw him last year a few times and that dude could fly.

everytime a Wylie fan predicted a Wylie win the Curo people jumped all over it and talked trash and touted your impressive 14-0 record.

Like the kids say.. WHATEVER.. I NEVER trash talked anyone from AW and I am fairly sure Old Green, Gobbler Grad nor Crabman did either.. so please don't lump ALL posters with a FEW flight-by-night posters. I am not predicting anything about the 2005 season and never do, I am here to SUPPORT the GOBBLERS win or lose and you can put that in your pipe and smoke it :)

this team was a monster for 2 reasons...

1. Lone Star Steel Manufacturing Plant was a hotbed for upper level paying jobs and did a good job of recruiting parents with talented sons. Similar to what Evangel Christian Academy of Shreveport does consistantly which is recruit parents with jobs and bring their Texas' behinds over the border..

2. they had the Everett brothers, one being Thomas of the Baylor Bears and Dallas Cowboys of 91. Another being a Mims running back who also played at Baylor along with Steve Stutsman an awesome receiver/tightend who also starred at Baylor.

That, and the fact that they were probably the fastest thing 3A's ever seen.

They outscored their opponents something like 630-8. They would've won the 4A title back then.

whats up world? im back. and first off gobbler84 you aint no 6'1 and you dang sure dont run no 5.0. but enough dissing my own teammate he will still wreckshop next year and him and 59 will lead our new and improved o-line with just as much strength and way more speed. and i take pride in being the second best program in 3A. nothing wrong with that but 630-8 is amazing. that is crucial

I'll have to admit 44inarow is my 3adownlow role model. haha. Abiline Wylie i don't remember many people downing yall too much before the game, and sorry if they did. But now you do not have anything to be bitter about, because yall were a great team. Yes yall did get the W in the state game, and yes many Cuero people recognized that you were the better team that night. As my third grade teacher said :"quit your belly achin" I'm sure you will be back next year ready to defend that state title against the whole 3A. I wish you the best of luck along with the rest of the state. I'm just ready for some football.

As far as the best team ever: DAngerfield 83 (broken record but the truth) it's stats explain why.

The most appearances: the kelly green fightin machine Cuero

Best run: Goes for a tie for me. 4 State titles Sealy which is probably more significant... then the 44 wins in a row by Cuero which is a remarkable number itself.

Hope i didnt sound like too much of a homer but I'm proud of the tradition.

Sealy's record 1994-97 was 63-1 and they won four state championships along the way. They missed one year losing in bi-district and were finalists again in 1999 where they lost to Commerce by a touchdown.
