I'm glad the Angels won just because that increases the odds of Baker leaving. He was great for the Giants, but isn't getting along with management and his contract just expired tonight. The word is that the Cubbies are gonna throw a ton of cash at him, but the Mariners are his choice since they're on the west coast. Seattle needs a big-name replacement for Lou Piniella, but I'm not sure they'll offer Dusty enough to get him here. I'd love to see it, but I think he'll take the money and go to Chicago...and the Mariners will choose between M's bench coach John McLaren, Angels pitching coach Bud Black, Willie Randolph, and someone like Kevin Kennedy. The Mariners still have enough talent to get them deep in the playoffs, but will have to battle again with Anaheim and Oakland just to get in. I love baseball, too, and took this chance to vent my spleen a little bit...lol. :D
