I'm considering going...depends on if I can get tickets and what games are playing.

if Wylie or Graham makes it then I may make it down for the tourney. Otherwise I doubt it...

I'm in wait-and-see mode. If our boys make it, I'll most likely go to their game. As far as M&G's, I'm certainly up for that, either way.

Are you gonna cook if we meet and greet?

I'll be at the state tournament this year. It will mark my 34th straight trip to the tourney. My dad started taking me in 1972 and I haven't missed a year yet. He started going in 1958 and he hasn't missed a year since. He is going for 50 straight years, got 48 behind him now. He was honered 8 years ago for his 40th straight trip. I've got to at least make 50, we'll see. Anyway, the town and tournament sure has changed since I've been attending. I've seen lots of history made. I feel priveledged.

Thanks APPantherFan. With my dad being 72 and me 41 years old, we have really cherished these last few years at the tourney.

I hope that we'll be fortunate enough to be playing in the tournament this year...We have got a lot of work left to do this weekend at the regional tournament though for that to happen.

So I take it no one will be going or doesn't want to meet up. You should want to meet because Friday is my birthday and I am expecting presents from everyone. So if your at the tourney, you can save on postage and just give them to me there.:D But seriously, if you want to meet up just pm me, I'd be happy to break off my busy schedule next weekend.:D

I haven't heard yet, but will probably get an e-mail from the school and confirm that. Wonder why the times aren't posted on the UIL Website?:(

Seriously doubt I can make the Thursday game, but if we win, will try to go up Friday for the Saturday game.

Russ, if you can make it, please yell loud enough for both of us. Our baseball team will not be attending a tournament previously scheduled, so they can support the guys on Thursday.

Van had a convincing win over Tatum (54-41) so I think it will certainly be a tough game. AP's performance at regional had some flaws, but I am sure Coach Hayes is back at the drawing board doing what he does best and preparing! ;)

Thanks for the good luck wishes!

As I suspected, just received an e-mail from APISD and the game with Van is scheduled for Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

The winner of that game will then play the winner of the Graham/Diboll game on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. for the State Championship.:)

I'll try to find a complete tourney schedule, to make some sort of M&G plans. Friday, around lunchtime, will work best for me.

As it will work for me. When you get the schedule just let me know, Ill be at all of them.

The Basketball state tourney should be buried in some class A school's gymnasium with seating for about 6 on each side. This sport is a waste of time.

It always amazes me when someone says something is a waste of time but yet took the time to READ the post and then POST a reply to it :D

Here's the schedule, for those of you going to the tournament. There's a break between sessions 4 & 5 on Friday. It looks like around 1:00-1:30 would be a good time to meet.

That sounds great. We could meet up for lunch somewhere between the sessions if everyone wants to. There are a couple places me and LHPM talked about that are really close to the Drum.

KTJ

Alright, so my discussion section for Friday is cancelled, which means my Spring Break officially starts on Thursday at 12:15 p.m.

So I think I'm gonna go to both the 3A and 4A sessions, unless something comes up. (Which I don't forsee that happening.)

Bulldog_12
03-08-2005, 03:44 PM
Sweet, I should be rolling into town just in time for the 4A games, hopefully. Unless of course I get lost, then Imight be a little later.

It's Austin. You can't get lost. You will, however, get stuck in traffic most likely. :)

I dont know yet. Im not sure how im gonna get there. Any suggestions on the fastest route?

big daddy russ
03-08-2005, 05:43 PM
I'd head through Caldwell on 21 and then hit 290 in between Giddings and Bastrop. That seems to be the fastest way I've been.

Bulldog_12
03-08-2005, 06:04 PM
Thats what I plan on doing. Im gonna get on 21 at highway 6, then go straight to 290 and go right into Austin. It said 2 and a half hours, is that right??? I didnt figure it would take that long.

LH Panther Mom
03-08-2005, 08:14 PM
I don't see how it would take 2 1/2 hours. It shouldn't take more than 2 and probabaly a little less.

KTJ
03-09-2005, 12:12 AM
It takes and hour and 15 minutes to get from Austin to College Station.

Here's the plans - I hope I didn't get this out too late. :(

Friday, around 1-1:30, depending on the end of the Howe vs Jim Ned game, we'll meet up outside Brick Oven restaurant at 1209 Red River. Bulldog 12 and I have each other's cell #'s in case there's a delay in the game. Hope to see ya'll there.

Wish I could be there! Best case scenario, Aransas Pass wins today and I leave for Austin after lunch tomorrow! My sister lives in Leander/Cedar Park and I can hang out with the relatives and make the game on Saturday.

Worst case scenario, Aransas Pass takes a loss today and I stay home this weekend!:(

At any rate, Happy Birthday Bulldog 12 and if LHPM is cookin' up some of those sausage wraps ... eat one for me!:D

For those that want to follow the state championship games and do not have access to a radio feed, you can go to the following site:

http://www.uil.utexas.edu/ath/basketball/state/boys_index.html

When you get there, click on Scoreboard. From there you can get a written posting of the score and a simultaneous updating of the player's scores and other stats. No audio though.

I used it for Van-AP some of the time yesterday. Great for the details.

Have fun tomorrow.
