They have played against top teams at that tournament. They lost to No. 1 California 1 to 0 as the CAT throw a one hitter but that one hit was enough to get CA the win. UT had bases loaded in third with no outs but couldn't bring any runs in and you can't lose those opportunities against top teams. Also UT with CAT's great pitching again beat UCLA for the first time in extra innings 3 to 0! A big step for the UT program. It is noted that California and Arizona have dominated softball national championships the past several years so these games are encouraging plus the games were in California so UT was the visiting team. Way to go Ladies!

Yeah Phil, we also had a great weekend in softball. We beat #1 Cal. 5-2, but ended up losing to # 23 Long Beach state 1-9. Im just glad we beat #1. :D

A great win over California Bull! It just goes to show that the Big 12 is tough in softball and several teams have the potential to do very well in the playoffs.

just to let ya know Phil, Baylor girl's played the other number 1 Arizona on sunday and lost to them 1-0 also...both arizona and baylor had 3 hits, but arizona's hits all came in the first inning when they got their run, baylor had girls on 2nd and 3rd w/ 1 out in the 4th inning but could not cash in the oppurtunity....
