Cuero currently has 5 guys running sub-11 100 meters in practice. First meet is this week. I'll keep ya'll updated. Should be an interesting year for the relays.
We have a new kid in from Houston. Brandon James. Ran a FAT 10.57 100 meters as a freshman. He is a junior now. Running hand timed 10.4 in practice. We also have Martell Williams, Stephon Hargrove, Bradley Bomba, and Fabian Olguin all running 10.9 and better. State runner-up Dayne Grahmann is back for his senior year in Yoakum. Only two guys will make it out of district. Should be interesting.

We do use electronic timing... Thumb/Finger press with motion detection...

If it's true, that's damn fast.

I mean what they use at the statemeet and olympics. Not a stopwatch

I'm a timer at the Gobbler Relays. I have been going to track meets my whole life. I know you add 0.24 to a hand time to equal a fully automatic time. These guys are fast. Olguin and Bomba both were under 11 last year hand timed. Hargrove, believe it or not, ran 10.87 FAT the summer after his eighth grade year at AAU in Corpus. He is 6'-1" 190 lbs as a freshman. Dude is a running back. Martell Williams ran 22.1 200 meters last year.
I could easily see him down to 10.8 this year.
Remember Latrael Cooper ran 10.62 for us last year and he is still rehabbing his knee.
I saw the James kid run pass routes between his freshman and sophomore year. He just has a different gear.

Motion detection is pretty top of the line... Your fingers leave the press once you start running... when you cross the finish (motion detection) the time is stopped... But we had that when I was still in school, I'm sure they have updated...

The times are true ive been watching this bunch since they were in the seventh grade and they are fast. I havent seen the new kid run yet but from what I hear he has some jet's . If injuries and a dropped baton hadnt hurt them last year they would have gone to state in the 4x100 2 Fresh and 2 Soph's were the relay team with a junior as the alt. This is a special bunch going the here right now and they arent done yet .

I'm sure he'd love to, but he doesn't drive.
