Seminole girls bow out

LUBBOCK The Canyon Lady Eagles remained on track for their third consecutive Class 3A state title Tuesday by rolling past Seminole 58-25 in a Region I-3A quarterfinal playoff game at Lubbock Monterey High School.
Jordan Hampton scored a game-high 16 points for Canyon (28-3), with Mandi Whitecotton finishing with 11 in the victory.
Kayla Johnson led Seminole (28-9) with eight points.
Canyon, which outscored the Maidens 32-11 in the first half, will face Breckenridge in one regional semifinal Friday at Texas Tech’s United Spirit Arena.
