SINTON - Garrett Jacks a senior at Sinton High School has accepted a Congressional appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy .

School administrators said Garrett is only the second student in the high school's history to receive an appointment to Annapolis. Garrett is involved in a variety of school clubs, and also holds leadership positions in most of them.

He's president of the National Honor Society, Vice president of the Music Honor Society and president of the Spanish club.

He will also be graduating in the top ten percent of his class.

What the news fails to mention is this..
Garrett Jack is:
-all state drummer
-football player
-salutatorian
He is a great kid... .ive known him since he was a little boy.. and i cant say enough good things about him... Good job Garrett...

when i said he was an all state drummer... what i meant to say was that he is first chair in the all state solo and ensemble band two years in a row.

i think the fact he is from Sinton covers the fact that he is highly awarded in whatever he participated in;)

Congratulations to Garrett and his family and the whole community of Sinton, who I am sure feels they had a part in his success (and, as a Pirates fan, I think they probably did!)! Best of luck to a future leader in our military!
