Can you solve this?

Three men go to a conference and the bill for the hotel is $25 dollars. Each man puts in $10 a piece($30 total). The manager gives the bellhop the change of $5. The bellhop tries to spit the change equally and comes up with keeping $2 and giving all three men $1 a piece.

Now.

All three men have paid $9 dollars each for a total of ($27). The bellhop still has $2. Total is $29 dollars.

Where is the extra dollar?

each man actually paid 28 between them...one of the dollars was divided into the price of the hotel. they each paid 8.33 cents for the room. and received a dollar back. meaning each man paid 9.33 dollars each. For a total of 28 dollars between them. leaving a balance of 2 bucks.

ea. guy paid one third of the $25 and one third of the $2 tip. $8.33 (25/3) and then .67 ($2/3) so in reality they each paid $9. but then they got back 1 so it equal $10 per person.
