Depends on who's throwing the curve ball.

never done either, but pole vaulting sure does look harder, so high, with such a skinny pole. I saw a kid fall and miss the mat my soph. year at a track meet, now thats some scary stuff.

It's also scary if the ball curves the wrong way & knocks the crap out of a body part.

i remember my brother vaulting at a high school meet and the pole bent backwards in mid-vault and popped big jim and the twins. but good news. he later got married and was able to father 2 kids.:D

i say pole vault
pole vaulting requires you to get up, and if yo don't you land backward, no mat will save you

curve ball is an easy pitch to hit it stays on the same plain now a slider or split finger fastball those are some hard pitches to hit

Curveball is more difficult, backed up below, but I've left with bigger cuts playing #59 than #1.

Gotta be pole vault.
Curve ball.... keep your hands and weight back, and you're fine.
Make contact.
Pole vault you've got to haul butt up a small runway and then make sure you've got enough tourque going on that big stick to throw yourself up.... and then over the dang bar.
Now that takes some skill.

Top 60 (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/sportSkills) Auto racing was #32 but motocross was not on the list. If you've ever done it you would agree it's a top 5 if not on top of the list.

Pole vaulting!

I have seen fat kids hit a curve ball, never seen a fat pole vaulter.

Amen to that! That's why I stuck with hitting the curveball. Too fat to trust that skinny little pole.
