Well it going to be a big one at Ford Park this next Thursday thru Sunday as 44 teams scrimmage-game, getting started into the preseason. This one pits some good teams all in one place. I have a feeling that there will be good crowds there again this year. The Bayou Classic at Beaumont and then the big Sulphur, LA Tournament two weeks later are really unique in that to two states get to put their teams to the test with teams from across the Sabine River. Over in Lapland(where Louisiana laps over into Texas), the assorted teams are really getting excited.
Today, Saturday Feb 12th, the following teams were out at the Beaumont Complex squareing off in heated good scrimmage games--Silsbee, Bmt. Central, WO-S, Bridge City, Kelly, Hamshire-Fannett, LC-M, West Brook, Anahuac, and Vidor. Look for West Brook to break into the 5A rankings-- they are tough! Kelly will easily win the private school State Championship.
