Following reprint from Wise Co. Messenger Update 02/10/05:

GIRLS PLAYOFFS SET, KINDA — Five of Wise County’s eight girls high school basketball teams have made the state playoffs. Four of them, however, will compete in district playoffs to determine seedings. Class 1A Alvord (30-1) will tackle Windthorst (20-3) tonight at 6:30 at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls to determine the No. 1 team. The Lady Bulldogs will advance to the bi-district playoffs on Monday against Tolar or Santo, and the game has been tentatively scheduled to played at Peaster. Also, rivals Decatur (14-14) and Bridgeport (19-10) finished the season as District 7-3A co-champions with 9-1 records and will meet for a playoff at 6 p.m. Saturday at Northwest High School. The winner will get a bye in the next round of the Class 3A playoffs while the loser will be No. 2 and is expected to face Whitney on Monday or Tuesday. FInally, Boyd (25-5) will take on Millsap (25-6) in a battle for second and third places. The two will meet up at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Peaster. The Lady Yellowjackets will advance to the bi-district round of the Class 2A playoffs on Monday or Tuesday, and the site is tentatively set for Granbury.
