Ya'll think a leader in track will help. Visiting with the track coach from Stockton he says now that Jefferson is back doing something the kids are going to rally around him which will raise the bar for the other kids. He was disappointed that he did not play basketball cause they have suffered from not having a leader. So my question is track coaches, does there have to be a so called leader on the track team or not.

Track and Field is a sport where a leader really doesn't mean much. Although you compete as a team in the point standings most of the kids are more concerned about personal bests. I've been to meets that had pole vaulters leaving with their parents after a couple of hours because that was their only event even though the meet had several hours to go.

I think there are leaders on a track team. Some people just motivate others to do well even if they are not competing as a team in a certian event. Motivation to get as many point as you can to help the team concept.

as far as saying coach hall said the b-ball team does not have a leader, we have a 4 year varsity lettermen, averaging a double-double and clearly the vocal leader and obviously the on court leader. We have a few good players but when your point guards average about 15 turnover's a game it is hard to win. It is not the point guards fault completley but it would make things alot easier if we had some ball control, jefferson is a great leader and even a better kid but i think the b-ball team had a leader.thats just my opinion.

every time I look in the paper Stockton always looses 2 or 3. They just having bad breaks or besides the leader can they not get done.

im telling you it's turnovers... they lost to lamesa twice by 5 points the first time and 4 the next. they lost to monahans by 1 where we committed 21 turnovers. presidio came in here and left with a last second 4 point victory. our big man, who had 18 pts and 11 boards scored to put us up by 1 with 40 seconds to go but we could not answer after they went back up our point guard kicked the ball off his foor out of bounds, everygame its like that.

Does the coach not see this and put another player in.

i think he is "limited" in ball handlers, the upper classmen who he has really have not stepped up from what i can see. coach flores is a good coach and has a good system but as far as his players executing it, i think he has his hands tied in some positions

That usually does not help a coach huh. I have noticed that you speak highly of this big man that is on the bball team. Are you related to him or do you work for the school.

against who wa ssaid to be the best big man, the boy from presidio, he put up 22 pts the first time, and 18 pts the other night on him, holding him to 7 the first time and i believe 8 the other night.

Is stockton going make the play-offs this year. I have seen the teams play in district 4 and they have some amazons. Will this guy be able to handle them.

unfortunatley , they have no shot. like i said they have lost 4 district games by 5 points or less. easily could be 7-3. but those are the breaks. i think it is greenwood, seminole, and either lamesa or presidio, depending on these last 2 games.
