For him that is because he mentioned his family loves Texas A&M and it was his first choice all along. The only fault I have is that he should have said so a lot sooner that way the Aggies and Horns and LSU could concentrate on getting other players. My advice to recruits that if you like a school and city it is in the best that should be your choice and that was obviously Bennett's choice all along. You can't follow coaches especially when you consider Saben and Myers and other coaches that changed jobs even before their last bowl games were played. And don't think Saban may stay in Florida or whereever it is because the pros may come calling. Look at Myers at Oklahoma State now jumping to LSU. It is the same there. Coaches and situations change sometimes abrubtly. Just ask Williams why he chose Penn State over the Florida college because Florida abrubtly fired it's coach.
If you like Oklahoma and Normon that is where you should go. If you like Waco and Baylor that is where you should go. If you like Austin and Texas that is where you should go. If you like Texas A&M and College Station and Bryan that is where you should go. It is the school and place that should rule. A good time to visit the schools if you can afford it is while you are a junior in high school and go there incognito and look around the school and campus and city. This is good especially if the school is close by. Go there in the middle of the week when nothing is going on to see how you think you will like it. Remember when you are going to an official campus visit they are going to put their best foot forward and show only good things in order to get you to come. It is we are great and others are not good thing. It is not always that great. Go to where students hang out and just listen to their conversation. You will get an overall view of the college and place. Then after you get that information decided if that is where you really want to go. Remember when Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson became roommates the first thing they did was discuss their faults to determine if they could live with each other in worse conditions. That is why a place rather than coaches should determine where a student athlete wants to go.
I know that telling that to young 18 year olds is probably futile but good advice is still good.
