What does "guantanamera" means in english?

It means "One Ton Tomato", at least thats how we used to interpret the song in the Yucatan after consuming many ceverzas!:D

im likely to go with your definition, however i found this:

Guantanamera means a girl from Guantanamo as in Cuba

That makes sense, since the song is written about a dude from cuba.

i remember we had to sing that in spanish class when i was a junior. there is also something about palm trees in there somewhere...:p
