So since I'm a ref, I get to see some pretty nice gyms (and pretty crappy gyms) in the Austin area. When playoffs come, I travel all over. So some of the nicer gyms for high schools that I've seen are...

-Duncanville
-Wimberley
-Burleson
-Wolfforth Frenship

There is a new gym they are building in Katy that will be simply amazing! I wish it was done this year for playoffs but we'll have to wait until next year.

Sinton's newer gym is nice with seats available on both sides of the gym for visiting and home sides. They don't have a snack bar though so they lose revenues which is why they probably had to double the prices. lol Anyway even when they do serve snacks (which is rare) outside they don't let you take them into the gym. Unlike the Port Aransas Gym where they not only let you take drinks or food inside they encourage it.

I personally like the Gregory-Portland gym that has the 360 degree seating. That of one of 4 gyms they have available for varsity games!!!! Phil, the new Sinton gym is much better that the old one next door, but I heard it was built without input from the varsity BB coach at the time (Glendenning) and that is the reason for little to no room on either end. You would think we would get a ticket price "discount" for having less!

burleson has 360 seating aswell. infact they have an entire complex, kinda like the american airlines center, but alot smaller. and burleson is 4a, but why get hung up on details, right?

Didn't get a chance to see their main gym but Weatherford HS has eight gyms.

we just had a new gym built here in Canyon along with our $26 million dollar school, and this gym is amazing. we have a hanging drop down scoreboard, and the floor is sunken. the seating isn't anything great, but the architecture of the building is awesome. there's a balcony at one end of the court to look down on the game. state of the art floor (from what i hear)

Robstown has a good gym but the only fault is that fans can only sit on one side. I would prefer the G-P gym because it is big and has seats available for both sides.

Not very many people get to see it but I have been to Ft. Stockton's and that gym is the nicest gym I have ever seen. They say around 6 million to build.
