Congrats on the win, Keith. :)

(I have to ask.)

Umm...how'd the score get so high?

well the last 2 touchdowns came on interception returns.. and we only passed the ball 7 times the entire game.. the score being ran up was really unintentional.. Boxscore of Gainesville-Whitesboro game (http://dallasnews.statsonline.com/football/02/stats/event33027.shtm)

Way to run the score up, G'ville. Guess that makes y'all feel better after the loss last week.
That Gainesville class never ceases to amaze me.

Running the score up is a hard issue to call. On the one hand, it's just not a nice thing to do. Period. On the other, if you've got your second and third string in and it's already a runaway ball game, do you tell them not to score? Guys who don't get to play very often deserve a chance to shine a little, too.

Keith, how long did your starters stay in the game? Anything past the first series in the second half would be unnecessary, IMO.

We started rolling in alot of 2nd stringers in the 2nd quarter, and by the end of the 1st series of the 2nd half we had all back ups in.. look at the boxscore, our offense didnt score at all the 4th quarter.. our Defense had two interception returns and we kneeled down the extra point attempts

With the score 55-0 , the game's leading rusher scored on a 40 yard run. Doesnt sound like going easy on'em.

Sounds like you guys did all you could do. If it was second or third string defensive touchdowns, I don't think you can fault them for scoring. Those guys REALLY don't get a lot of glory.

The leading rusher was the back up running back and scored on a simple zone play with the back up line in the game

Keith - running up the score is a hard one to call. In FW - happens a lot that there's a huge discrepancy in scores. A few teams are just so weak that your 2nd and 3rd teamers can run all over them, too. Thus, the Everman-Riverside score. The schools in the city that are winning usually start getting in their backups pretty early. Defensive touchdowns are not scoring drives and are just kinda "icing on the cake." Ya have to look at who's still on the field when the scoring keeps going up. If all the starters are still in - then it's running up the score. Ask Matt - we see it more often in town where there's a big difference in the top of the district and the bottom. Cubs

The score alone cannot determine if a team was running up the score in my opinion. If a team has their 2nd and 3rd string players from when the team has roughly a 40 point lead or so, that is not running up the score. If those backup players keep scoring, good for them. They do not get to play very often and enjoy the opportunity to score and play well. I mean you cannot tell that kid running the ball to fall down after he gets 8 yards can you.

How bad to you have to pound on a school to make you feel better after your loss to Celina. You probably are related to some of those Comfort folks in 2A who get off to beating people 78 and 77 to 0 after getting beat by the Blancos. I think some of you fans and even the coaching staff have issues to deal with. Thats ridiculous, there is more to life than beating someone senseless. A win is a win is a win, regardless if it is 2-0 or 74-0, so why so happy about running it up?
