He is being flown to Ramstein, Germany as we speak.
He called his wife, but didn't elaborate on his injuries, just wanted to let her know that he was alive. He was on morphine, so she had a hard time understanding what he was saying.
From what my aunt says, the incident was reported on the news this morning. The humvee was carrying 4 US Army soldiers and was ran into by a van carrying 7 Iraqi's. The van exploded, I'm not sure if it was a suicide attack or not. The initital impact ejected all 4 soldiers before the explosion.
Whatever injuries he has, he sustained from being thrown from the vehicle. No word on the injuries of the other soldiers.
