Anyone know of a good place to get some cheap airfare to Las Vegas from Houston?? All airfare is outragiously priced at $300 R/T!! That is way too much, especially if it's only $150 R/T from Dallas!!!! I am looking to go March 24th to Vegas, and Return on March 27th... If anyone has any good links or places (I've checked all that I know of - travelocity, orbitz, expedia, priceline, etc) let me know! I appreciate it! :)

Try Southwest...I am flying to Yuma, AZ at the end of the month and they were the most reasonable going that way. Laughlin, NV has cheap Continental flights. You may try flying out of Lake Charles? Sometimes they have real specials over there. Good Luck!

thanks for the reply Bull, going to try calling the numbers specified on the website for 'specials'.. They show the cheapest prices out of any of the airlines, but im sure that my fare is going to be more expensive (leaving on a Thurs and returning Sunday)

What happened to Delta going cheaper?? lol..

Old Card: It currently cost about the same to fly out of Jeff. Co or Lake Charles, as it does to Houston.. tell me THAT ain't crazy!!! Honestly, I refuse to pay that price for a ticket.. They'll get my $ if they make it down to around $200-$215 (Either from Houston or Jeff. Co. or Lake Charles).. If I don't get to head to Vegas, so be it, lol. but that is the weekend I wan to go..

Funny enough, last week Travelocity alerted me of R/T Airfare to Orlando for only $75!! Why oh why would I want to pay close to $300? :) LOL!

.
Jeez, a travel agent should get you 3 nights in a casino with r/t airfair for the same price or less.

One last thought, bc. You might get hold of G2 and see how much he would charge RT for his super rural-American escorted premium redneck multi-stop service between Houston and Las Vegas. It includes all the spam and crackers you can eat, endless Hank Williams, Jr. music, pit-stops at every Hooters, half-empty Shiner beers, 2 year-old girlie mags, 8mm G2 home movies for your viewing pleasure, and close association with a cat, a raccoon, and a possum for riding companions, or possible emergency meals. Yee Haaa! :)

I've never found flights from Texas to anything west of Phoenix for less than $280 and I lived in Cali for 3 years  I'm sure there's something out there, but I didn't find it...good luck.

Definitely try Southwest.com. We went to Vegas in November and stayed 3 days and 2 nights for about $300!! It was R/T from Austin. If you fly/stay during the week it's a WHOLE LOT cheaper than staying during a weekend. We stayed on the Strip and NOT downtown!!

I have bought several tickets to different places over the years through priceline.com. You tell them how much you will pay and they get an airline who will take that amount even if it is not a published fare. But for Vegas trips...as one poster mentioned..check a travel agent for a package deal.

i checked expedia.com this morning and found rates at $198 on america west airlines but the rate is on a redeye return. although they arent my favorites, they will do if needed. American runs just under 300, but are a way better airline. if you have to get a redeye, try priceline.

Thanks everyone for all the replies!! I finally got booked up, although I had to adjust the days I'll be there a tad.. Instead of the Thurs-Sun I'll be there Wed-Sat ($200 cheaper!) The total w/ Air for 3 people + limo for 7 (we have 7 total in our group) ended up being just right at $1000.. w/o the roundtrip transfers, it was only around $800 ($275 or so/person) Amazing what days you travel on can affect how much airfare is.

Now if we can keep that pesky rain away from Vegas in March that has been getting them all week!!

Remember Southwest is independent. Their fares will never appear in any of the discount travel sites like Orbitz or Travelocity.

To BCCards: Glad you were able to make good arrangements. I am curious as to what airline made you the better deal?

I was fishing around on the America West internet site and found a couple of great bargains-- Houston R.T. to either Seattle or Spokane WA for $198.00--now folks that is REAL CHEAP and there were many time-options to choose from. America West has good flights especially out west that fly out of their HUB in Phoenix.

Would someone start and ongoing thread and let folks list super low fares to assorted places. We retired ole coots can fly anytime and it would be fun to see the ongoing real bargains that are available from say-- Houston, DFW, and other major cities across Texas....

Old Card: The cheapeast deal I could find was from Southwest Vacations (www.swavacations.com).. I have had Travelocity keep a watch on airfare options to Las Vegas, Orlando, and a few other places in the country. At one point in November, airfare R/T to Orlando was ONLY $125! I have never heard of any airfare that low, unless you are traveling in the same state.
