You may have already seen this but I have no way of knowing. ESPN Insider is reporting that the Rangers may be able to land Carlos Delgado.
Jan. 9- He's recieved recent offers of three years and $30 or more million from the Marlins and Orioles, but the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that Carlos Delgado wants to play for the Rangers. Perhaps more importantly for Delgado, the Rangers are apparently willing to pay this price of about $11-12 million per season.

Delgado has had great success in Texas, belting a home run nearly once every eight at-bats. While his numbers did drop some last season, he was hurt before the All-Star break. When healthy in the second half, Delgado hit .305 with a .408 on-base percentage, 22 homers and 63 RBI's.

The Mets are also interested along w/ the Dodgers but with the Mets landing Beltran they may choose to pass on Delgado. Rangers owner Tom Hicks maintained the status quo.

"We think Carlos is a special player," Hicks said in the Star-Telegram. "He's had great success in our ballpark. It would be nice to see him wearing the right color jersey. But baseball is a business, and (Rangers genneral manager) John Hart is going to have to play this out with Carlos' agent over the next week"
