Jasper's Gilbert Moye was selected the Greater Houston Area Soph of the year, per Texas Prep. :)

This is not just a "3a" honor. He beat out all sophmores from 5a down to 1a. This included not only all Houston schools, but schools from the Beaumont - Golden Triangle Area, Galveston, The Woodlands, Lufkin and many other high profile high school programs.

This is a tremendous recognition for this young man, and is probably just the first of many to come over the next two years.

We only had one make it, junior Kenneth Beasley, and he is a real gem. It should be another fun week 0 next year getting to watch both Beasley and Moye, two of the best athletes in all of Southeast Texas, play against each other. :)

Yes, Beasley is a good one! :) Congratulations to the WO-S program.

Jasper did gain one other spot on that team. Senior LB Derrick Bean was selected to the third team defense. Congratulations to him also.

Wow! That's quite an accomplishment! Congrats to Moye and to all the other players that were selected to receive this honor!

Has Patton committed to go anywhere yet? His stats didn't show it this year, but whoever picks him up will be getting a gem!

That's quite impressive. It's nice to get some recognition for 3A! Especially when it's from Jasper!;)

I have a feeling Beasley will get quite a few more touches in week 0 next time than he did the past time.

I don't think we had a person in the 10th grade play this year on the "V".
