what kind of tree do you have? across the nation the most polular are ::

Artificial evergreen 57.9%
Pre-cut evergreen 25.7%
Cut-your-own evergreen 11.4%
Live evergreen (potted or balled-and-burlapped) 2.51%
Less traditional type, such as aluminum 2.41%

mine is the fake evergreen with lights already on it ....

Pre-cut evergreen. A couple of years ago we bought a live tree & planted it after Christmas.

We went with the standard 9 1/2' douglas fir this year. It so dry we're scared to turn on the lights for fear of spontaneous combustion.:(

We did the 7 1/2' pre-lit. The kids weren't too happy, but then again they don't have to put on and take off the lights (always my job). That coupled with the fact that I have had numerous trees die and look fairly sad by Christmas...made it a no brainer this year.

I will probably give in a do a pre-cut again in years to come. ;)

thats exactly why we went with the fake ... too much of a fire hazard. yes, i know all about keeping the tree fresh but sorry its not worth the risk IMO. break off a branch & toss it in the fireplace - it will practically explode in flames ...

.
So it's probably not a good idea to have it right next to the fireplace like ours...
.
We already picked out the prelit we want. 12' noble fur next year.

How long will a tree last in a bucket of water? My wife was a little early this year, like Columbus day and I'm getting a little bored with it.

The cheapest tree at wal-mart...

Mine was a $50 one from Wal-Mart....it's about half the size of the one I had the past few years.

This is the first pre-lit tree I have ever had, I will never go back!!

I cut down a tree in Oklahoma one year and drug it back with me to Texas, I thought that sucker would NEVER die!!

Here's the tree I have now!

We're not used to the $1000 a month mortgage payment. We didn't go to Wally-world for the tree, though.

We should have bought it at WM cuz it might have saved us enough for dinner for two(and a possible movie).:D:(
