Will Gilmer be able to defend its state crown in 2005?

Let them or you enjoy winning this one. I bet they are all on cloud nine. 29-1 over the last 2 years right?

Nothing against Gilmer, but they won't defend their title. If Jasper goes DII again, they'll win it in that division. Moye is one very, very gifted player and he's gonna lead his team to a title next season.

I don't see Silsbee dropping out of the playoffs next year, so I think that if Jasper makes the playoffs it is highly likely it will be in Div II. As we saw Saturday, that is not necessarily a blessing. But one good thing, I think Jasper did get to meet the best available opponent in the finals, and the returning players like Moye got one more game of experience. Think about it, a soph QB with 17 games of varsity experience. Absent injury or other misfortune, he should do some big time stuff next year! :)

Who knows if the Bucks repeat? I guarantee one thing, and that is that they will defend the crown to the best of their ability. Like our friends from Atlanta, we would not trade the championship for anything and that includes a down year if necessary. I do not think they will have a down year, but it takes a lot to get back to the 'ship, and those teams do not come around the corner every day.
