At halftime it is Linfield 21 Mary Hardin-Baylor 13. MHB had Linfield third and 6 with 1:43 in second quarter and unwisely called a time out hoping to force a fourth down punt. This was not wise in my opinion because they had two time outs and Linfield has a potent offense. It turned out that the time saved aided Linfield who only had a 14 to 13 advantage because Linfield completed a long pass and moved the ball and score (a ref error though) with 28 seconds left in the half. MHB should had let the clock run and then if they didn't make it they could call time out on fourth down and still have another time out when they get the ball. The QB scored from less that a foot away from the goal but the replays seemed to show the ball did not cross the plane of the goal but the refs gave it to them. It was close though. Anyway big goof up on timing was costly. I hope it isn't another Texas team biting the dust after SHSU and North Texas getting beat by So. Miss.

MHB missed a field 13 yard field goal with abut 6 minutes in first quarter. It was blocked. By their own player! The kicker kicked it too low and it hit one of his own players helmet. It looks like another Texas team bites the dusk. :(

MHB scores at TD and makes two extra points to tie the game at 21 to 21 with about 9 minutes left in the game. GO MHB!!

MHB may have shoot themselves again with the kicking game. A blocked punt gave Linfield the ball on MHB 10 yard line and they score a td and lead 28 to 21. MHB better work on the kicking game during spring practice. It killed them in this game. About six minutes left in the game. If MHB can get a td they might as well go for two with the disaster their kicking game has been today.

Linfield wins 28 to 21. MHB actually had a shot at the end of the game they were down at the Linfield 24 yard line with a few seconds left but weren't able to move it in. A well played game though. Too bad MHB had kicking errors that cost them the national championship. Hope other Texas colleges do better.

UMHB's quarterback is Josh Welch, he's from right here in Copperas Cove, he's been the starter since just before the regular season ended...he is a true freshman, and VERY talented....

he's also a stud left handed pitcher....
