Yeah it is. Boyd was up 14 - 6 and Newton went for it on 4th and 6 from their own 39, and broke it for a touchdown! The 2 point try was good and that tied it at 14 with about 8:00 left in the 4th. Then Boyd kicked the FG to go up 17 -14.

It looked pretty tough when you finished 3rd in a great 3A South East Texas District but you endured and are ready to play for the State Championship. You were championship material from the start. Jasper held LH on the one yard line and LH had no more time outs, so time ran out. It was a heartbreaker for sure. I really though LH would pull it out.

All I can say is......WOW! LH, you guys played us until the very last second. There is no reason to hang your heads, you had a great season and just about changed the outcome. Believe me, last year I experienced the same thing that you are right now. Seniors on that team, Hold your heads high and be proud of your great season.

Saw a great game today...after the 1st 3 scores by Jasper I didn't think LH could stop us and they didn't for the 1st two quarters...the 2nd half they play hard and almost pulled out the win. You guys have a great team and very good coaches. You offense was exactly as I expected it to be. The wing T is a great offense and is very difficult to stop when ran the way you guys run it. I bet you guys will be right back here next year with the players you have returning.

wow...that was an amazing game. It was an amazing experience to run out with my team mates after the final buzzer rang. But LH....wow....that offense was sneaky..i couldnt tell where the ball was going for the first 2 and 1/2 quarters. And yall had a great season, 3 2000+ yard RB's is something not many teams can say they have done. But this is it, this is our year. All I want for Christmas is a state ring.

Evidently you are a youngster and don't know. But, Jasper has won a state championship before. It was back in 1967, during the old segregation period. The Jasper Rowe High Tigers won it all. One of the members of that team was Sam Adams Sr. (who went on to play for the New England Patriots, his son also now plays in the NFL). Another interesting fact, Coach Cliffton Williams was the coach of that team. Just a little history lesson.

the current jasper high school has not won a state championship. Jasper rowe did win won, but rowe does not exist anymore. I heard a comical story the other day about integration of rowe and jasper high...the man was a stud running back at jasper high as was back of the year at the school...the next year after integration he was lineman of the year :D

LH ya'll are some kinda of special too. At first after seeing the first quarter, I told my wife that Jasper was going to run away with this one.... boy did I under estimate the LH team! They scratched and fought and clawed until I felt they had the momentum to win it. That LH ofense with the QB handing off and faking with either hand had to be tough to defend. Hate to see either team lose. Looking foward to seeing ya'll next yr.
