Well, here it goes, the feedback might be brutal but oh well:

First off, I want to congradulate the Wylie Bulldogs on the win, your QB really spread out our defense tonight and you won with your legs in this game. Congrats on the big win!!!

Cuero, you fought long and hard, and almost came home with the win, for the seniors, it will be something to really be remembered. Also congrats on the great season you had guys.

OK, Wylie definitely played together as a team tonight, which is one reason they are celebrating right now. I know I'm gonna get bashed for saying this, but Wylie also had the advantage with the zebras being on their side tonight, cuz that O line was sure as hell holding every single dang play of the game, but nothing was called.

Also, I wanted to just present a little info about the QBs big run @ the end of the game that set up the FG...did anyone notice that the play clock struck zero before the play started, and it shouldn't have even happened, shoulda been dead right there....and although this was on the right guard, did anyone see him TACKLE one of our defensive lineman from behind, which I thought was illegal on offense, but that could just be me. Now, I'm not saying that Wylie wouldn't have still won the ballgame, but that play sure helped and without it, I was seeing overtime in the making, but it's over now, my Gobblers ended the season w/ a lone loss, but ya'll just wait, cuz mark my words Cuero will not only win a championship within the next couple of years, they will also break/tie the record for most state title games attended throughout the state of texas!!!!!--they only need one more appearance!;)

Again, Congrats to the Bulldogs on the big win, I just didn't think they should have won the way they did. And no, I don't think injuries had a lot to do w/ this one, 2 great teams, just thought cuero not @ best due to tough game last week!

Take for example #47 for Wylie coming around the end...he didnt because the tackle kept holding on by the arm when he would get around him at the corner. Finally, dont start with the delay of game crap because you guys got away with one right before that drive when you couldnt score from 15 yards out.

All in all, it was an awesome, well played game by both teams...I have to work from 8-8 tomorrow so I am off to bed...later on!

the timeout was granted. it was kinda funny cause the cuero coach was jumpin' all around trying to get the side judge's attention and he finally did. it was right.

and of course there was lots of holding on both sides that was not called, just like in every other game i've seen this year. ya cant call it on every play.

Uncalled for!! This was the final game in 3A - D1. Have a little more class than that. Both teams were awesome or they would not have made it to the Finals.

Hold your heads high Cuero Gobblers. You have had a 14-1 season, nothing to be ashamed of. So proud of the way you represented Cuero, played the game with class!!!

Congrats to AW it was an awesome game to watch.

obviously you cant judge the relative and overall strength of a REGION based on who won the state championship GAME .........

and a thought :: is Abilene REALLY west texas since its closer to Texarkana than it is to El Paso ??? :thinking:

I think that most consider Abilene "west texas". I know that people from Abilene identify themselves as west texas....which is probably the most important part. And yes I think that you can make some very good inferences regarding the strength of a region when one teams wins a state championship. Especially when that team had to share the district championship with two other teams and that they sent home a team (Decatur) that probably could have also won a championship.

I am awful proud for the Keenum family....Case's dad was my offensive line coach in high school. He was a great coach that really cared about his players. By the way....we had a great staff for a 3a school with coach Keenum as 0-line and Randy Allen as the head coach.

By the very same token, people have said forever that region 4 is the weakest of the four. Yet, strangely enough, R4 has had a team compete for the D1 title the last four years in a row. We've yet to win one, but we were there, and two of the four were CLOSE games.

i dont know which region was best in 2005 - but IMO you can't accurately judge the strength of a region base on who plays in the title game ...

You have to expect some "homer" comments here. Heck, if Sinton AND Ingleside were still playing at this level, I'd be one of the first to do it. 4-3A has one state champ and a div2 rep still in the hunt. That's an accomplishment in anybody's book.

In all honesty 3afan....I agree with you for the most part. I think that because of demographics involved that year in and year out regions 2 and 3 are likely to be the strongest for alot of reasons. I have been keeping tabs on 3a football for awhile out west and I have noticed a definite upswing in the competition in 3a. Some of the other classifications out west have been more successful on a statewide level but not 3a for at least the past 20 to 25 years. However, Abilene Wylie's upsurge (starting in the 2000 championship game) along with Greenwood a few years ago and 4-3a this year have given those out west a cause for optimism. I think that we are seeing a time when the upper echelon of region1 can compete with anybody in the state and that is what has changed out here over the past few years. In regards to this...please excuse my exuberance and "homerism"....it is not intended to put down any other region.

I read the comments and didn't see anything that outrageous. And, the game is over now, so try to show some respect. As I said, it isn't very classy to GLOAT. Be proud of your team's accomplishment, but leave the opposition some dignity. This game COULD have gone either way, so I don't see how you have much to beat your chest about. i dominated spenser in the crowd...never said our team DOMINATED...but yes...i do have a lot to beat my chest about...we won state...the gobblers didn't...it COULD have gone either way...but all games can...i can gloat all i want...what are you going to do?? lol complain...yes...and when someone telsl you to "lighten up and join in the fun"...when the other people are saying the same thing as me but just for the gobblers instead of the bulldogs...that's not OUTRAGEOUS but it's rude...stop complaining about what i said and let it be over...don't be like decatur and keep this going for forever....i think the gobblers were a great team...but they didn't come out on top...try not to reply to this so there isn't this whole "drama" thing on here...great season guys

I think a lot of posters forget that these are high school teenagers playing a game. They are not professionals being played to paid, they play for the love of the game. By the comments of some you would think that they are the ones who have played and won or lost these games that we are allowed to enjoy. I would hope that win or lose that the people of Snyder and Gilmer would realize this as well. I look forward to the game tonight and can tell you win or lose I will have watched a bunch of young men who have worked hard to be where they are and not because they live in a particular region.
